GSC Game World, the developer behind S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, experienced a fire at their Prague offices, reportedly caused by wiring issues that set one of the office's three floors alight. It's estimated that around 1.5 million crowns or $66,000 worth of damage was caused. Fortunately, no injuries were reported and according to information from HazzadorGamin, the event is not expected to affect development. GSC Game World maintains their team has faced more challenging situations in the past.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2's development has been plagued by repeated misfortunes, including a pause due to the war in Ukraine and hacking attempts, now followed by a fire. Despite these setbacks, anticipation for the game's release remains high. The hope is that the team can continue to work safely and deliver the game without rushing to completion.
